Election Results

Result reports for every election Caldwell County conducts are published by the Elections Office — election-night summaries first, then the canvassed record. Vote totals always trace back to the source report, so any figure can be checked against the original.

Understanding election results

Unofficial results are released on election night as ballots are counted. They include early voting, ballots by mail received in time, and Election Day totals — but not ballots still being resolved, such as provisional ballots and mail ballots that may still legally arrive. Unofficial totals can change.

Official results are produced after the canvass, when the Commissioners Court or the appropriate authority formally reviews and certifies the count. The Early Voting Ballot Board first decides which provisional and late-arriving mail ballots count. Official canvassed results are the legal record of the election.

Reading the county's published reports

Summary reports published by the county are headed "Unofficial Results," including copies filed in official-results folders — so no report on its own declares a winner. For the certified outcome of any contest, consult the canvass records or contact the Elections Office.
